You are now the proud owner of a hydrangea!

You can enjoy your plant indoors for a few days but we would recommend planting it in the garden or a pot outside as soon as possible.  

With a little care, it will reward you with gorgeous blooms year after year.

Hydrangea Care Guide

🌿 Light
Place your hydrangea in a spot with morning sun and afternoon shade, or  dappled light.  Avoid prolonged hot afternoon sun, especially in summer.

💧 Water
Hydrangeas love consistently moist soil. Water thoroughly whenever the top few centimetres of soil feel dry, particularly during warm weather. Don't let the plant dry out completely.

🌱 Feeding
Feed with a balanced fertiliser in spring and again in early summer to encourage healthy growth and vibrant flowers.

🌸 After Flowering
Allow flowers to dry on the plant for winter texture and interest.  The bird will also love these dried flowers in the spring for their nests.  When new growth appears in the spring remove the previous years flowers but avoid heavy pruning as this hydrangea flowers on stems produced the previous year.

🪴 If It's in a Pot
Check moisture more frequently, as pots dry out faster than garden soil. Make sure the pot has good drainage and never leave it sitting in water.

❄️ Winter Care
Hydrangeas are hardy, but young plants in pots may benefit from a little protection during severe frosts.
